Beauty or brains?
I think you need both – life wouldn’t be too easy if you were really dumb and beautiful or really unattractive and intelligent!
What’s your skincare ritual?
I always remove my makeup with oil and then wash it off with water. I also use a glycolic-acid based toner to really cleanse my skin and follow with a totally basic moisturizer called Cetaphil, which you get for about a dollar in the USA. I try to squeeze in some professional facials, but since you can’t shoot the next day after that, there is always a time crunch.
And your hair care ritual?
A great shampoo – the inferior ones can really strip your tresses, conditioner and a thickening product if I am shooting. Other than that, I really don’t do much – not even an oil massage.
Favourite makeup hues?
Browns and neutrals with a little shine.
If you could create your own beauty product, what would it be?
The perfect foundation, which looks natural and doesn’t clog pores.
What’s the craziest thing you have ever done for the sake of beauty?
Gotten lash extensions! I hate people touching my eyes, so when I heard of semi-permanent lash extensions in London, it seemed a great way to save time and effort. It took three hours and after that she tells me to stay away mascara, makeup remover or water for three weeks. So, I ended up making my life really difficult!
Do you worry about getting snapped with a bare face?
I really don’t care, especially if it’s in the outdoors with natural light. However, sometimes the light tends to get very odd and unflattering inside.
How does it feel to walk past a billboard of yourself?
If the picture is good, I am really happy and think nice thoughts about the people behind it. But if it’s a terrible shot, I will dial their number and start asking questions.
Biggest beauty fear?
That my skin will get loose and droopy.
So, will it be plastic surgery or crow’s feet?
I don’t think there is anything wrong with getting a little help as long as it’s not dangerous and you are not changing your basic look or cutting anything open.
What would you change about yourself?
Loads of things – my hair, the structure of my face, tendency to gain weight…I would really like to redesign every part of me and create a system where I stuff myself all day long and never put on an inch.
How do you deal with stress?
Freak out, shout, scream, then realize that’s not very nice so calm down.
Do you watch what you eat?
In phases – there are times when I try to follow a healthy diet and go through a fitness regime but it never lasts too long.
Yoga or aerobics?
Aerobics – yoga is a bit too calm for me.
Apart from diamonds, what else is a girl’s best friend?
Makeup, clothes and a personal stylist.
Your daily wardrobe?
When I can escape full-fledged shooting-mode glamour, I love to chill out – T-shirt and track pants hit the spot perfectly. For parties its usually open hair and a knee length dress… I probably have the world’s most boring style.
Biggest fashion regret?
I end up buying all these gorgeous (and expensive!) dresses and can only wear them a couple of times because then they appear in too many photos. And I don’t really have anybody to pass them on as I am a lot taller that my sisters.
